Face Of The Day: Prom Edition

Although my prom was about a month ago, I thought I should still share the make up I wore with you. I never got round to writing this post when it was actually prom season, but it might be nice to read if your prom is next year.

Firstly I started with my base, I used Benefit's Porefessional to prime my face. For foundation I used MAC's Studio Fix Fluid and buffed it in using the Real Techniques 'buffing brush'. I then concealed my under-eyes and any imperfections using the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, I loooooooove this concealer. Next I used the Bourjois Bronzing Primer to warm up my skin, then I contoured using Benefit's Hoola bronzer. For powder, I used my favourite Rimmel Stay Matte to banish any shine throughout the night. I then added a tiny bit of blush from my Sleek Face Form palette and highlighted using the highlighter from the same palette.

For my eyes, I started off by filling in my eyebrows using my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade. I then primed my eyelids using Maybelline's Color Tattoo in 'And On Bronze'. Next, I used the gold shade from my Victoria Secret eyeshadow. To create a cat eye, I used the L'oreal Superliner. For mascara I used the Benefit Roller Lash - this mascara is incredible! Finally, I lined the edge of my flick using the Collection Glam Crystals eyeliner in 'funk'.

For my lips, I used this MAC lipstick in Velvet Teddy. I absolutely adore this shade!

If you recently had your prom, I hope you had a fantastic time.

Thanks for reading,

Center Parcs Photo Diary

Recently I visited Center Parcs. It may not be the most glamorous of 'holidays' but I always enjoy myself so much there and snapped up the opportunity of going again.

I thought I'd share some of the photos I took whilst we were away. We were very lucky with the weather whilst there, however, I have been right in the depths of winter before so don't let the season put you off, it's amazing all year round. If you ever have the chance to go to Center Parcs, I'd highly recommend it, it's such a lovely place and you'll never be bored!

The Bedroom Edit

Since my exams are finally over, I decided to reward myself by redecorating my bedroom. I wanted to go with a monochrome theme, seeing as black and white are probably my favourite colours, with touches of copper. I wanted my room to have a bit of a retro twist, but nothing too much.

For my bed I decided to go with this Ikea black and white striped bedding. The cushions are from Primark and I chose two black and one copper to blend it in with the rest of my room. My bed side table is just plain white and is also from Ikea, along with my black desk lamp with I am in loooooove with.

Opposite my bed is my TV and above this is a floating shelf from B&Q. I brought two packs of three cacti from Ikea and spray painted some of the white pots copper.

I have a white blanket box at the end of my bed, which has been around as long as I can remember and when it came to decorating, I just painted it white. On the blanket box is my recorded player and another cactus. My record player is from Crosley and was kindly gifted to me by my boyfriend - I love this colour of it so much and it goes so well in my room.

On my windowsill I just have another cactus (called Brenda) in a plant pot that I also spray painted copper.

Next to my windowsill, I have my dressing table which is from Amazon. I love this because it adds a little vintage vibe to the room but it isn't too much. Behind my dressing table, I have my art wall. The wall isn't finished yet because I want to collect art as I go in order to add more character to the room. I also have a digital photo frame which was given to my by a friend.

Finally, I have my Alex 9 Drawer Unit from Ikea and my mirror. I decided to go with the Alex drawers because I heard excellent reviews and was told that they would be brilliant for storing make up. On top I have a pot which I also spray painted copper to hold my perfumes and a candle. My mirror is from B&Q and on the floor I have a FAKE white sheepskin rug from Ikea.

Pretty much anything copper in my room was spray painted by me and most of the smaller pictures on my art wall are postcards from Paperchase. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments!

Thank you so much for reading!

Dear June

Wow. June - you truly have been the most amazing month so far. I can't quite believe that you're gone already, but I cherished every single moment that you were here, I just wish we could have had a little more time together.

You were a time of endings and new beginnings. In your short 30 days here, you saw me officially leave school; finish my exams; have my birthday; experience my prom AND go to Centre Parcs. I've been on a real high the whole time you've been around, and I worry that July will bring me crashing back down to reality, although I really do hope it's as kind to me as you have been.

In July, I really want to get back into blogging. Now that my exams are over and my 11 week summer has started, I have a lot of spare time, which means that I will hopefully be bringing you lots of new content. I want to get out the house more and explore. I'm a home bird, you see, but I feel it really isn't that good for me to always be hidden away, especially in such lovely weather, so I will try to attempt new things.

June, thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me such a wonderful month. I can't even put into words how grateful I feel, especially to the people who made it possible. Thank you.
Here's to you June, and here's to the rest of my life.
See you next year.
