How well do you know your face? We all get breakouts from time to time, but I've always wondered what it is that caused them. I did a little research and it turns out that certain parts of your face link to certain things. I decided to give you a little tour around the map that is your face!
1 and 3 - Your digestive system.
Having a lot of fat in your diet is one of the main causes of breakouts on your forehead. It's a good idea to have a detox - water and green tea is great for this!
2 - Your liver.
This area breakouts mainly due to a high dairy and alcohol intake. Spots in this area may also be caused by a food allergy - which obviously you should consult your GP about! Otherwise, try to cleanse your diet.
4, 6, 8 and 10 - Your kidneys.
Dehydration can cause breakouts close to ears and even dark circles under your eyes! Drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated - try to avoid tea, coffee and salt as these dehydrate you.
7 - Your heart.
Your nose is made up of dilated pores, to avoid spots keep all make up brushes and anything else you put near your face clean. Find out whether your blood pressure is high, if it is, replace fatty foods with fruits, vegetables and nuts.
5 and 9 - Your respiratory system.
Smoking can cause breakouts on the tops of your cheeks. A way to avoid these spots is to increase the amount of fresh air you get - taking long walks regularly is great for your skin!
11 and 13 - Your hormones.
'That time of the month' can cause spots for many women. Stress and hormonal imbalances are also key factors in causing breakouts - clean eating and exercise will help.
12 - Your stomach.
Breakouts on your chin can be caused by a bad diet. If your diet is full of heavy and rich foods, then try having a detox. Adding more fibre to your diet can also help reduce these breakouts.
14 - Illnesses.
Spots erupt here because your body is trying to fight off bacteria. If you start to feel ill then relax and drink lots of water.
Enjoy your new and clear skin!
